The Wired Educator Podcast: Becoming a Better Educator Now So You Can Make a Greater Impact and Enjoy a Higher Quality Lifestyle. The Wired Educator Podcast will deliver content to help educators make a greater impact, be more productive, increase their efficiency, and improve their lifestyles. I really want to emphasize my love and passion for learning and teaching. I truly want to make a difference in the lives of students and help inspire the next generation of educators. I share methods that I have learned from some of the most amazing educators around the globe on how to become a better educator, while expanding their classroom as a writer, speaker, and professional. Kelly interviews Jenny Grabiec about technology and curriculum.

Jenny began her teaching career as a third grade teacher in New York State. Selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2013, Jenny has spent the past five years working primarily with iPad and Mac in education. Jenny is currently the Director of Instructional Technology at The Fletcher School, a K-12 school in Charlotte, NC for students with specific learning disabilities and/or ADHD. Here she had the privilege of leading a one-to-one iPad/Mac rollout with students, faculty and staff. Her passion is inspiring students to select the best tools to support them in their learning. In this episode, Kelly interviews the founder of iPadpalooza, Carl Hooker.

Carl Hooker has been a part of a strong educational shift with technology integration since becoming an educator. As Director of Innovation & Digital Learning at Eanes ISD, he has helped spearhead the LEAP program, which put one-to-one iPads in the hands of all K-12 students in his 8000-student district. He is also the founder of “iPadpalooza”- a three-day “learning festival” held in Austin annually. He's also the author of the six-book series titled Mobile Learning Mindset, a guide for teachers, administrators, parents and others to support and embrace mobile learning in our schools.

Kelly interviews John Spencer the author of Launch: Using Design Thinking to Boost Creativity and Bring Out the Maker in Every Student.

John is the co-author of Launch with A.J. Juliani.

John Spencer is a former middle school journalism and computer-programming teacher who is now a full-time professor of instructional technology in Oregon. He is passionate about seeing students embrace creativity and design thinking. His work has been featured in Kappan Magazine, Edutopia, Slate, and The Washington Post and he had the honor of delivering a speech at the White House on the future of education. Spencer is the co-author of several education books, including Launch: Using the Design Thinking Process to Boost Creativity and Bring Out the Maker in Every Student. He is also the co-founder of two educational technology startups, Write About and Blend Education.
